Most teeth need only a whisper — 0 to 0.5mm, within enamel. Some need a crown. The judgment is knowing which, tooth by tooth — never grinding a whole arch into pegs to keep it simple.
A full crown removes 1.5–2mm of sound tooth on every side, and it never grows back. We remove that only when the tooth truly needs it.
